1965 Dunstall Dominator This bike started life as a stock Atlas and has been equipped with original, period, or reproductions of nearly every goodie advertised in the 1965 Dunstall catalog. I have always thought that the 1965 Dunstall Dominator was just about aesthetically perfect. Dunstall started advertising complete machines in there 1966 catalog. The engine features the work of noted tuner Leo Goff including a balanced lower end, 10.1 pistons, Norris SS cam, and gas flowed head resulting in a very fast and smooth 750 Norton motor.
Here is a list of the modifications which correspond to Dunstall catalog listings:1965 Dunstall Dominator 750

  • -Bronze Valve Guides
  • -Multi Rate Valve Springs (S&W)

The tach and speedo were restored by Nisongers. The magneto was rebuilt by Doug Wood. The bike has 3377 miles on it so 99% of the teething problem shave been addressed. The only flaw is some acid stains on the left silencer from a vented battery (since replaced with a sealed unit). Asking $9500 or best offer 301-994-0709

1975 Norton Commando MK3

1975 Norton Commando MK3
Beautiful frame-off restoration.
Pearl white with black lettering.

This bike was taken down to the smallest divisible component and rebuilt from the ground up

Every bearing, bushing, and seal were replaced everywhere.

The engine was built on a dynometer and balanced and blueprinted and run to test all engine functions. The transmission was completely rebuilt.

The original Dunlop wheels were checked for round and then re-chromed and laced with polished stainless steel spokes.

A new wiring harness was installed.

The frame and various components (oil tank, battery box, swing arm, center stand, kick stand, engine mount cradle, head steady, rectifier bracket, coil bracket, rear fender mount, rear caliper mount plate, etc) were bead-blasted and powder coated in gloss black. Calipers were rebuilt with stainless steel pistons and front and rear brake master cylinders were rebuilt with new seals and pistons and all metal brake lines were duplicated in stainless steel. All flexible brake lines were replaced with stainless steel braided lines.

New clutch and cable. New isolastics and rear hub cush rubbers. New tach cable. All chrome parts were re-chromed and all alloy polished. A new Boyer-electronic ignition was installed as was a new single 34mm Mikuni (original Amal set-up and air box included) and K&N filter. All English bolts were polished and cadmium plated. Loads of stainless steel hardware was used. The starter works (barely) but the bike starts on the 2nd kick. Bike runs and shifts very well with no issues. The engine was broken in with break-in oil and then at 500 miles switched to 20/50 Mobil 1 synthetic. The bike has polished stainless steel peashooter mufflers. The bike has about 1000 miles since restoration.

I have all photo documentation and receipts for the restoration including pictures of the engine on the dyno. There is no doubt that this is one of the finest and most detailed restorations of a 1975 MK3. The pictures should give you a good idea of the quality of the restoration and the condition of the bike.

I am a former club member and former Norton owner. I have been looking recently to buy a Norton 850 Roadster. I had one back in the early 80’s and sold it to a fellow group member who lived in Quakertown. I would love to get another one, black, with or without electric start, 74-75 mainly. Know anyone selling any right now? Even baskets cases? I rebuilt mine years ago, so I can easily rebuild another one. Let me know if you can.

Thanks,

Michael McWhirter

I am interested in finding a buyer to purchase all of my British bikes and parts that were collected and kept in climate controlled storage for years. The collection is substantial, I am going back to college to get an associate’s degree and need to sell everything for expenses.
If you would like a copy of the listing and all jpg photos emailed to you, please feel free to call me at 940-297-9300 or simply email me at edlebowitz@yahoo.com. I need to sell everything soon, and am interested in the buyer showing up with a large truck to take it all. Thank you.
 Regards, Edward Lebowitz

I would like to trade my 1979 SSD bevel drive 900CC Ducati for your late model mark IIA or Mark III 850 Commando or interstate. My bike hasn't been on the road in years and does need some work. This bike is sure to increase in value over the next few years. Perhaps you've finished your bike and are looking for a new project. Perhaps you are a closet Ducatisti. Give me a shout and trade photos / info. Thanks.
